CEBU CITY––The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) has announced the implementation of the P31-wage hike for minimum wage earners and P500 for domestic workers in Central Visayas starting June 14.
In a statement, the RTWPB said the wage increase would start 15 days from the publication of the wage orders approved by the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC).
With the wage hike, minimum earners in the region will receive between P382 and P435 daily.
The wage increase applies to all wage earners in the private sector regardless of their position, designation, or status, the RTWPB said.
For domestic workers, the new minimum wage rates range from P4,500 to P5,500 every month because of the P500 increase.
Domestic workers include general househelp, yaya, cook, gardener, laundry person, and any person who regularly performs domestic work in one household on an occupational basis, regardless of whether they are on a live-in or live-out arrangement.
