LUCENA CITY — More than P49 million worth of shabu was seized on Wednesday from four drug suspects in separate buy-bust operations in Cavite province, a report said Thursday.
Col. Arnold Abad, Cavite police chief, reported Wednesday that anti-illegal drugs operatives collared at around 4:30 p.m. Said Ungpe, 39, and Ali Masinger, 22, after they sold a pack of shabu to an undercover police in Barangay Datu Esmael in Dasmariñas City.
The police tagged Ungpe and Masinger as “high-value” illegal drug traders.
Authorities found the suspects possessing 18 plastic sachets and seven tea bags containing a white crystalline substance suspected as shabu, and weighing seven kilos.
The seized illegal substance is worth P47.6 million in the street market, Abad said.
Anti-narcotics agents earlier busted Sandro Toledo, 35, and Cecille Pakingan, 40, in another sting operation at 3 p.m. in Barangay H-2 in Dasmariñas City.
The suspects yielded 200 grams of shabu with a street value of P1.36 million.
The police were conducting further investigation to determine the source of the illicit drugs.
All suspects are under police custody and facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Last June 2, local police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency agents seized 80 kilos of shabu worth P544 million from five drug suspects in Dasmariñas City and General Trias town.
