Olongapo posts 2 new COVID-19 cases
OLONGAPO CITY––Two more residents have contracted COVID-19, bringing to seven the city’s active infections, local data showed on Wednesday, June 8.
The city’s COVID-19 task force said the infected patients were a 42-year-old man from Barangay East Bajac-Bajac and a 29-year-old woman from Barangay New Cabalan.
Both were fully vaccinated against the viral disease, but only the younger patient displayed symptoms of COVID-19.
The city’s COVID-19 cases have increased to 7,000 since the pandemic broke out in 2020. Of this figure, 6,643 had recovered, while 350 had died.
Healthcare workers were also monitoring at least 22 suspected cases of the disease as of Tuesday.
