PhilHealth denies P54.4-M claims by NKTI
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) has denied P54.4 million in claims for reimbursement by the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) due to incomplete documents and other deficiencies.
State auditors made the observation in its 2021 audit report on the NKTI, a government-run tertiary medical hospital in Quezon City that specializes in kidney and related diseases.
The Commission on Audit learned that for 2021, the claims were denied or returned due to the NKTI’s failure to fully comply with the required documents and conditions stated in the National Health Insurance Act.
