DAVAO CITY—The city government here is urging an estimated 20,000 individuals affected by the government’s high-priority bus system project to immediately register to avail themselves of financial and nonfinancial aid.
Lawyer Tristan Dwight Domingo, the assistant city administrator, said most of them were public utility vehicle drivers, operators, landlords, and other people affected by the project but only 8,570 had so far registered, and only 6,342 were verified eligible for aid.
The city plans to give financial grants of up to P100,000 to affected operators and P80,000 for full-time jeepney drivers once their eligibility was verified, he said.
