PH posts 1,295 COVID-19 infections from May 30 to June 5 — DOH

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 1,295 infections of COVID-19 were recorded from May 30 to June 5, slightly lower than the total recorded the week before.

As stated by the DOH in its latest weekly report on Monday, these new cases translated to a daily average of 185 cases per day — 1.4 percent lower than the past week’s average of 188.

Sixteen or 1.24 percent of these new cases were also classified as severe or critical, while one new death was added to the country’s COVID-19 death toll.

The number of patients suffering from critical or severe cases of COVID-19, meanwhile, decreased from 679 last week to 599 (11.1 percent of total COVID-19 admissions).

This also reflects the ICU-bed utilization rate which decreased 14.7 percent, from the previous week’s 16.8 percent. However, the DOH report showed that the healthcare utilization rate increased from the previous week’s 17.2 percent to 18.1 percent.

In terms of vaccination, fully-vaccinated individuals are now at 69,487,920 (77.20 percent of the target population) after 155,924 additional individuals were vaccinated in the past week.

On the other hand, individuals with booster shots total 14,312,506 after 174,278 additional individuals were inoculated in the same period.

Based on the DOH’s COVID-19 tracker on its website, the COVID-19 caseload is currently at 3,691,546 as of June 5, with active cases sitting at 2,479, recoveries at 3,638,611, and 60,456 deaths
