‘Forget everything’
DANAO City Mayor Ramon “Boy” Durano Jr. called on his brother to forget about everything and start anew.
The mayor made the call after the Commission on Elections (Comelec) en banc resolved to discontinue recall elections in the city, citing budgetary constraints and tedious preparations as reasons.
In a press conference at his office yesterday in Danao City, Mayor Boy said he holds no grudge against his brother and the City Council.
Mayor Boy cited that at present, the city has a budget of P309 million for their general funds that could help finance livelihood programs for the city folks.
City Councilor Jose Thaddeus Roble Jr. said he welcomes the mayor’s “nice” gesture, saying Mayor Boy and the City Council could work together for the benefit of the city.
But Roble said that when it comes to the matters on recall, he cannot decide on it alone. Mayor Boy cited the recall as the cause of the delay for the start of the civil works of the Danao City Bulk Water project.
