The Philippine National Police -Internal Affairs Service (IAS) has recommended the dismissal from service of six Caloocan police officers who were found to have taken P14,000 in government aid from a vendor in March.

Alfegar Triambulo, inspector general of the IAS, said on Friday that they submitted their recommendation to the Directorate for Personnel Records and Management on Tuesday.

The PNP identified the cops as Police Corporals Noel Sison, Rommel Toribio, Ryan Sammy Mateo, Jake Rosima, Mark Christian Cabanilla and Daryl Sablay, who were all previously assigned to Caloocan City Police Drug Enforcement Unit before they were relieved from their posts.

According to Triambulo, they were found guilty of grave misconduct and conduct unbecoming of a police officer after they assaulted vendor Eddie Yuson and took his money as seen in a closed-circuit television footage.

The IAS’ recommendation may be approved, modified or reversed by Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr., officer in charge of the PNP, without prejudice to criminal charges that may be filed against them.

Should Danao approve the recommendation, the six police officers would no longer receive their benefits and would be barred from working in the government.
