The government on Thursday warned several transportation network companies (TNCs) for overcharging passengers and ordered one particular ride-hailing app to explain its actions for collecting excessive fares.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) wrote separate letters to five TNCs—E-Pick Me Up, Ipara, My Taxi PH (Grab), Cloud Panda and Joy Ride, all of which are accredited TNCs of the agency.
In a statement to reporters, the LTFRB reminded TNCs to abide by the board’s 2019 memorandum circular, which sets the fare structure for TNCs. —DEMPSEY REYES
