PNP seizes P6.8M shabu in Lanao del Sur bust, 1 arrested

MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested a suspected drug peddler in a buy-bust operation in Lanao del Sur, and seized P6.8 million worth of crystal methamphetamine or “shabu.”

PNP officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr., in a report on Thursday identified the suspect as Alraje Pagayawan, 27.

He was arrested in a joint operation by the PNP and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Malabang, Lanao del Sur.

Seized from Pagayawan was an estimated 1 kilogram of shabu estimated to be worth P6.8 million. A complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“He will now be facing charges against Republic Act 9165. It was a concerted effort to arrest the suspect,” said Danao.

“Now, it’s time to find out his network of drug transactions,” he added.
