Pagasa: Rain expected in parts of Luzon; fair weather in rest of PH

MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies with intermittent rains and thunderstorms will persist in parts of Luzon on Thursday due to a low pressure area (LPA) off Iba, Zambales, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

While the LPA is expected to dissipate within the day, Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja still cautioned residents in the Ilocos region, Bataan, and Zambales to prepare for possible flash floods and landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains.

Fairer weather is expected in the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, Pagasa said.

No tropical depression is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility until the weekend.

Pagasa, however, warned of one to two storms this June.
