MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday added 126 infections of COVID-19 to the country’s total caseload, with active cases now at 2,320.
Based on the latest data in the DOH’s COVID-19 Tracker, this brought the total number of confirmed infections to 3,690,707 nationwide, with 3,627,932 recoveries and 60,455 deaths.
These new cases are slightly lower than the average number of cases recorded from May 23 to 29 at 188 infections and the new infections recorded on Tuesday at 122.
A total of 21,177 individuals were tested on Tuesday, May 29.
Infections have been increasing — albeit only slightly — in the past few weeks, after experts warned that COVID-19 infections might surge by May due to neglected health standards.
