Cebu’s Margot Osmeña files election protest vs Rama
CEBU CITY — Former Cebu City councilor and ďefeated mayoral candidate Margarita “Margot” Osmeña is not ready yet to accept defeat.
Her camp has filed an election protest before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) against the proclaimed winner Mayor Michael Rama.
“Yes we filed a protest,” Osmeña said in an interview over DyLA.
She said the protest was lodged at the Comelec office in Manila but did not state when.
Asked what her basis was, Osmeña responded “the usual… the lawyers are taking care of that.”
Osmeña refused to answer more questions and said she will call back.
Later, she called up just to say “no comments” as to the basis of the protest.
