MANILA, Philippines — A generally fair weather is still likely on Thursday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), despite a high chance of rain in the afternoon and evening because of localized thunderstorms.

The state weather bureau said the  low pressure last spotted 245 km west-northwest of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, is expected to dissipate in the next 24 hours.

“Magiging maaliwalas pa rin po ang ating panahon sa Luzon lalo na sa umaga at tanghali,” said Pagasa weather specialist Ana Clauren in a weather report late Wednesday afternoon.

(Our weather in Luzon will still be clear, especially in the morning and at noon.)

“Ngunit pagdating ng hapon at gabi mataas pa rin po ang tiyansa ng mga panandaliang buhos ng ulan dala pa rin ‘yan ng localized thunderstorms,” she added.

(But in the afternoon and evening, the chances of short -term rains brought on by localized thunderstorms are still high.)

No gale warning is still raised over the country’s seaboards as Pagasa noted that only slight to moderate sea conditions can be anticipated throughout the Philippines’ coasts and in-land seas.
