Active COVID-19 cases in Zambales swell to 14

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales –– Five new COVID-19 cases were recorded in this province, raising its active infections to 14, data showed on Wednesday, June 1.

The new COVID-19 patients are from Subic, San Marcelino, and San Felipe towns, the Provincial Health Office said.

From nine, the number of towns in Zambales with no active COVID-19 cases has dropped to seven. The remaining six municipalities have at least one active case.

A total of 11,663 confirmed COVID-19 cases had been registered in the province since the pandemic broke out in 2020. Of this figure, at least 11,297 had recovered, while 665 had died from the viral disease.

Data also showed that 233,360 residents in this town remained unvaccinated against COVID-19, or 35.92 percent of its population.
