OLONGAPO CITY — Two new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in this city after two more residents contracted the viral disease, health data showed Tuesday.

According to the local task force, a 75-year-old woman from Barangay Gordon Heights and a 24-year-old woman from Barangay New Cabalan were the latest to get infected with COVID-19.

The elderly woman was asymptomatic and was fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while the other one was symptomatic and was unvaccinated.

Data showed that the two were the only active COVID-19 cases in the city, which did not record any new infections in the past days.

Since the pandemic struck in 2020, the city has already logged 6,993 COVID-19 cases. At least 6,641 of these were recoveries while 350 were deaths related to the disease.
