CEBU CITY –– Police have identified at least two persons allegedly behind the March 9 bomb threat at the Hall of Justice in this city.
Lt. Colonel Maria Theresa Macatangay, city police information officer, said the suspects, whose identities were kept confidential, were identified through the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit.
“The suspects were responsible for the malicious message that disrupted the court proceedings,” she said in a May 27 interview.
Macatangay said the identification of the two suspects should serve as a stern warning to those who wanted to do the same as authorities could trace the origin of the threats.
The police announcement came after bomb threats rocked the city last Thursday, disturbing city court perations.
A bomb scare was also received at the Cebu City Hall, Carbon Market, and the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway.
Macatangay appealed to the public to be responsible in dealing with threats after they found out that the text message about the bomb threat was passed on to others.
She said those who received the message should be careful not to cause panic and instead report what they got to the police.
Macatangay said they were coordinating with the ACU to trace who was responsible for the recent bomb threat.
