PDEA seizes P6.8 million worth of meth in Cotabato City

COTABATO CITY, Maguindanao, Philippines — Anti-narcotics agents in this city seized P6.8 million worth of crystal meth, locally known as shabu, from a suspected drug dealer in a buy-bust operation. But the suspect managed to escape, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said Monday.

The bust took place in Nayon Shariff Kabunsuan, Barangay Rosary Heights 3.

The suspect was identified as a certain Arson, according to Rogelito Daculla, director of PDEA in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Police said the suspect would face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

On May 27, four drug suspects were arrested and their drug den was dismantled. Authorities seized more than P102,000 worth of prohibited drugs in that operation.
