MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) recorded an additional 197 COVID-19 infections on Monday, which brought the number of active cases to 2, 448.

This number of new infections is higher than the daily average of 188 cases recorded from May 23 to 29. However, the new count is slightly lower than the 200 cases recorded on Sunday.

The new cases on Monday brought the total number of confirmed infections to 3,690,451 nationwide, with 3,627,548 recoveries and 60,455 deaths, based on the DOH COVID-19 Tracker.

Meanwhile, 12,632 individuals were tested on Sunday, May 29.

The Philippines has just had a slight increase in COVID-19 infections, as experts previously warned that COVID-19 infections may surge by May due to neglected health standards.
