Authorities on Friday confiscated more than P7-million worth of crystal meth, locally known as shabu, hidden in a water purifier. 

MANILA, Philippines — Authorities on Friday confiscated more than P7-million worth of crystal meth, locally known as shabu, hidden in a water purifier.

The Philippine National Police (PNP), Ninoy Aquino International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Group (NAIA-IADITG), and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) joined forces for a controlled delivery operation in Malolos, Bulacan, where they arrested Jonas Faustino after he reportedly received the illegal consignment.

“The confiscated shabu was shipped via Tanaporn of Ban, Nong Phaya Chonthabouly, Vientiane, Laos through Philpost-CMEC, Domestic Road, Pasay City. The illegal substance has an estimated value of P7,425,600 based on the current standard drug price,” PNP explained.

Faustino will face criminal charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022.
