LUCENA CITY––Police arrested Thursday two drug suspects in this city, and seized more than P130,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth).
Lt. Colonel Reynaldo Reyes, Lucena police chief, reported that anti-narcotics agents collared Francisco Fernando, 26, after selling shabu to an undercover cop in a transaction at 4:51 a.m. in Barangay Ibabang Dupay.
Seized from the suspect were three sachets of shabu weighing 5.10 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P34,680 and P104,040 in the street market.
The police said the suspect was a newly identified drug personality in the illegal drug trade.
Police drug enforcers also busted Roberto Baluyot, 38, in another sting operation at 7:35 a.m. in Barangay Cotta.
The police then seized four sachets of suspected shabu worth P26,928.
The suspect is on the list of street-level meth peddlers in the city.
Reformed drug users and former clients of the suspects tipped them off about the illegal activity, the police said.
The police are conducting further investigation to determine the source of the illegal drugs.
Both suspects are under police custody and face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
