17 hurt in bus malfunction in Bohol town
TAGBILARAN CITY—At least 17 persons on board a bus were injured Thursday when it fell on its side at the national highway in Loboc town, Bohol.
Lt. Camilo Estrera Jr, chief of the Loboc Police Station, said the passenger bus was on the way to Ubay town when the accident happened at 10:45 a.m. in Barangay Jimilian, Loboc.
Bus driver Nick Lubiano, 44, said he lost control of the bus when its brakes suddenly malfunctioned.
The glass windows of the bus were shattered, while the passengers were thrown out of their seats.
Lubiano suffered minor injuries. and was treated at the Loboc rural health unit. The other passengers who sustained serious injuries were brought to a hospital in Tagbilaran City.
