Man facing 38 counts of theft nabbed in Pampanga

ANGELES CITY –– Policemen arrested on Tuesday the most wanted person charged with 38 counts of qualified theft in Porac town, Pampanga.

In a statement Thursday, acting Pampanga police director Col. Alvin Consolacion said Jonathan De Mesa, 34, of Sta. Cruz village had a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Benigno Abila of the Angeles City Regional Trial Court Branch 117 for 38 counts of qualified theft with a recommended bail of P1,520,000.

Earlier, Porac police arrested three suspects in the theft of 14 fighting roosters.

Consolacion identified the trio as Jerry Albao, 52; Antonio Alejo, 63; and Jefferson David, 39.

Police allegedly confiscated from the suspects a replica Desert Eagle 9mm pistol, a 12-inch long knife, galvanized iron scissors, pliers, P5,000 cash, a wristwatch, a mobile phone, and backpacks with clothes used to gag the roosters.

Ten live roosters and four dead roosters were also allegedly recovered from the trio.

Police impounded the tricycle used by the suspects, who face robbery charges with intimidation and violating the gun ban under the Omnibus Election Code.
