Pagasa: Rainy Sunday in parts of Luzon due to ‘habagat’

LPA off Pacific Ocean changes track, now seen to enter PH after Christmas

MANILA, Philippines — A rainy Sunday is expected in parts of Luzon due to the southwest monsoon, or “habagat”, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported.

“Ito pong hanging habagat ang nakakaapekto ngayon sa kanlurang bahagi po ng Luzon,” said Pagasa weather specialist Samuel Duran during the weather forecast.

(This southwest monsoon will affect the western part of Luzon.)

Metro Manila, the Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon), Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan), Zambales, and Bataan will experience overcast skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

The rest of the country meanwhile will have  fair weather condition with possible isolated rain showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.

“Localized thunderstorms naman po ang umiiral sa nalalabing bahagi po ng ating bansa,” said Duran.

(Localized thunderstorms prevail over the rest of the country.)

No gale warning is up over the country’s seaboards.

There is also no weather disturbance being monitored in the country’s territory.
