Aurora logs 2 new cases after being COVID-free for 2 months

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––Aurora province has registered two new COVID-19 cases after enjoying 54 days of having zero active cases, data from the provincial emergency operations center showed.

Records from the provincial government showed that Aurora was free of COVID-19 from March 23 to May 16.

But on May 16, a resident of Dingalan town and another from Dipaculao tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

The two patients were brought to a quarantine facility.

The towns of Baler, Casiguran, Dilasag, Dinalungan, Maria Aurora, and San Luis, remained free of COVID-19 as of Thursday, May 19.

The province has recorded 4,215 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began in 2020. Of these, 3,966 had recovered, while 247 had died. INQ
