OLONGAPO CITY — The local COVID-19 task force did not record any new cases in the last three days, keeping its active infection at one.

Citing data from the City Health Office, the task force said the last case registered here was on May 16, which broke the city’s COVID-free status that lasted for more than two weeks.

The lone COVID-19 patient here is a 29-year-old man from Barangay Gordon Heights. He was asymptomatic and fully vaccinated against the viral disease.

Since the pandemic struck in 2020, the city has logged 6,990 total COVID-19 infections. At least 6,639 of these were recoveries, while 350 were deaths.

Healthcare workers were also monitoring 10 suspected COVID-19 cases as of Thursday.
