Cebu, Bukidnon sister provinces

BUKIDNON is the newest sister province of Cebu province.

This developed after Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia and Bukidnon Gov. Alex Calingasan signed the sisterhood agreement in Budkidnon last Saturday, which was the 95th founding day of Bukidnon and the annual celebration of the Kaamulan Festival.

With the agreement, both provinces will work on the the promotion of business, investments, and commerce; promotion of culture, tourism, human resource improvement, education, science and technology and environment.

Annual Action Programs will also be created to integrate specific projects or activities agreed upon by both provinces.

The signing was witnessed by Provincial Board (PB) members Wilfredo Caminero and Peter John Calderon together with some town mayors of both provinces.

Gov. Garcia also invited the Bukidnon officials to the 443rd Founding Anniversary of Cebu province this August. /Correspondent Carmel Loise Matus
