Pagasa: Cloudy Thursday with isolated rain showers

MANILA, Philippines — The frontal system continues to bring intermittent rain and cloudy skies to Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and Ilocos Norte, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported on Thursday.

(Because of the frontal system, cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will be experienced in Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and Ilocos Norte.)

After declaring the start of the rainy season on Wednesday, the state weather bureau also warned that light to moderate to at times heavy rain showers will become more frequent in Luzon and Metro Manila, especially in the afternoon and evening.

(The rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila will have partly cloudy skies, especially in the morning. From afternoon to evening, cloudy skies with high chances of thunderstorms are expected.)

Fair weather with isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms is expected in Visayas and Mindanao, Pagasa also reported.

Despite the widespread rain in the country, the bureau has not monitored any low pressure area or storm from inside and outside the Philippine area of responsibility.
