THE KENYANS are still the fastest in the region so far as they lorded the 2nd Run To Lead of the Gualandi Volunteer Service Programme and JCI Mactan Channel chapter yesterday at the Plaza Independencia.
The Kenyans dominated the 12-kilometer men’s category with Josphat Too grabbing the top spot with a time of 39 minutes and 26 seconds.
Compatriots Francis Kakoi and Douglas Mwiti claimed second and third spots, respectively. Kakoi finished in 40 minutes and 11 seconds while Mwiti clocked 40 minutes and 44 seconds.
Cristy Sevellino-Tutor, meanwhile, ruled the distaff side in a close race between her and Madelyn Carter.
Tutor finished with a time of 54:36.380 while Carter was less than a second behind with a time of 54:36.900.
University of Southern Philippines-Foundation’s (USP-F) Joeyry Lee settled for third place with a time of 54 minutes and 37 seconds.
Meanwhile, the Andrin siblings, Lovely, Jhean and Cherry dominated the 6k women’s side as they finished in the top three spots, respectively.
Lovely claimed the top spot with a time of 25 minutes and one second followed by Jhean (25 minutes and 30 seconds) and Cherry (25 minutes and 40 seconds).
Kenyan Abraham Missous topped the men’s 6k with a time of 19 minutes and 22 seconds.
Aiza Suaybaguio finished first in the women’s 3k while Robert Daang topped the men’s side. /Correspondent Dale Rosal
