MANILA, Philippines — All 12 winning senatorial candidates will attend the proclamation in Pasay City on Wednesday afternoon, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said.
Comelec Commissioner George Garcia disclosed this hours before the winning senatorial candidates are proclaimed by the Comelec, which sits as the National Board of Canvassers.
The 12 winning senatorial candidates are Robin Padilla, Loren Legarda, Raffy Tulfo, Sherwin Gatchalian, Francis Escudero, Mark Villar, Alan Peter Cayetano, Juan Miguel Zubiri, Joel Villanueva, JV Ejercito, Risa Hontiveros, and Jinggoy Estrada.
Meanwhile, there is still no word as to whether high-ranking officials—such as President Rodrigo Duterte—will attend the proclamation.
On Tuesday, Comelec announced that Duterte, Vice President Leni Robredo, Senate President Vicente Sotto III, House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco, and Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo were all invited to attend the proclamation.
Robredo earlier flew to the United States for the graduation of her youngest child, Jillian.
