Store security guard shot dead by 2 men in Manila

A convenience store security guard was killed by two still unidentified men who posed as customers in Sta. Cruz, Manila, Sunday morning.

Jefferson Tuliao, a 20-year-old employee of El Grande Security Agency, was shot once in the head as he was answering a question posed by his killers.

Nothing was taken from the store, which led the police to believe that the two men had gone there just to kill the victim.

Senior Police Officer 2 Virgo Villareal of the Manila Police District said that at around 6 a.m. Sunday, two men entered the Mightee Mart Grocey on Tayuman Street. One of them grabbed a bottle of mineral water while the other took a bottle of fruit juice.

On their way to the cashier, the two passed by the victim and asked him where they could find some bread.

Before the victim could even answer, one of the men pulled out a .45-cal. gun and shot him at point blank in the head. The gunman and his companion then barged out of the store and fled on a motorcycle which was parked outside.

The police said that the store did not have a closed circuit television camera to help them identify the two men. They added that they were counting on the testimony of witnesses to help them do so.

Investigators said that they were also checking the information that a few days before, the victim confronted two unidentified men for shoplifting.
