The Adamson University (AdU) has declared a three-day suspension of work and classes from May 13 to May 16, following the recently concluded elections.
“To give our students the time to address postelection stress and take the time to reflect on their election experience, the administration is declaring an academic postelection break,” Fr. Marcelo Manimtim, president of AdU, said in a statement on Thursday.
All prescheduled institutional activities within the said timeframe will continue.
The university president said to use the break to “restore our energy, reflect and heal from present events.”
“The intensity of emotions that many of our students felt after the election has left most of them unsettled and confounded. What they feel, we feel as well,” Manimtim said. —Dexter Cabalza
