LUCENA CITY––Police collared five drug suspects and seized over P161,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) during separate buy-bust operations on Thursday, May 12 in Cavite and this city.

The Calabarzon police said in a report that anti-illegal drug operatives from Dasmariñas City in Cavite busted the group of Rudy Yuson, Benito Tilaon, Edison Labarda, and Ericson Castillo after they allegedly sold at 5 p.m. a sachet of meth to an undercover cop in Barangay San Simon.

Authorities confiscated five sachets of shabu weighing 20 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P136,000.

In Lucena City, Lt. Colonel Reynaldo Reyes, city police chief, reported that anti-narcotics agents nabbed Rodolfo Ariate Jr. in another drug sting at 9:39 p.m. in Kanlurang Mayao.

The suspect, a member of a local drug group and was on the police watchlist, yielded four sachets of shabu worth P25,092 in the street market.

The suspects were under police custody and face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. INQ
