Mayor of Camarines Sur capital town reelected, daughter tops council seat

PILI, Camarines Sur—Reelectionist Mayor Thomas Bongalonta Jr. and daughter Annalyn were officially proclaimed Tuesday by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) as winners of the May 9 elections in this town.

Bongalonta, who will be on his third term, won against the town’s Vice Mayor Marivic Solano by a margin of 744 votes.

The Comelec also proclaimed his running mate Francis Belen, who garnered 19,882 votes based on the election returns of 95 clustered precincts of this town.

Annalyn, a first-timer in politics, topped the council posts with 17,755 votes.
