BALANGA CITY, Bataan––Five politicians from the Garcia clan won the local elections and were proclaimed Tuesday, May 10, together with the winning provincial board members.
Former Bataan governor Albert Garcia was proclaimed congressman of the province’s second district, along with his younger brother, former congressman, and now governor-elect Jose Enrique Garcia III, who ran unopposed.
The vice governor, Maria Cristina Garcia, won handily against an obscure candidate from Mariveles town.
Former Dinalupihan mayor Maria Angela Garcia won as congresswoman of the province’s newly established third district, comprising the towns of Dinalupihan, Morong, Bagac, and Mariveles.
Reelectionist Balanga City Mayor Francis Anthony Garcia, now in his last term, ran unopposed.
Bataan First District Congresswoman Geraldine Roman, who is also a reelectionist and now in her last term, was also unopposed.
