MANILA, Philippines — Actor Robin Padilla remains on top during the second day of the unofficial vote count of poll watchdog Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV).

This is based on the electronically transmitted results received by PPCRV, as of 8:17 p.m., from a total of 105,753 clustered precincts counted.

More than 26.3 million votes have so far been counted for Padilla, making the action star the current frontrunner of the 2022 senatorial race.

He was followed by Antique Rep. Loren Legarda with over 23.9 million votes in second place, and then tv personality Raffy Tulfo who garnered over 23.1 million votes.

At fourth was reelectionist Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian with over 20.3 million votes, then Sorsogon Gov. Francis “Chiz” Escudero with over 20 million votes, and former Public Works and Highways Sec. Mark Villar with over 19.1 million.

The other senatorial bets who broke into the so-called Magic 12 were:

Former House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano – 19 million votes
Reelectionist Juan Miguel Zubiri – 18.5 million votes
Reelectionist Joel Villanueva –  18.2 million votes
Former senator JV Ejercito – 15.6 million votes
Reelectionist Risa Hontiveros – 15.2 million votes
Former senator Jinggoy Estrada – 14.9 million votes

Majority of these senators are affiliated with the so-called UniTeam tandem of presidential contender Sen. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Davao Duterte-Carpio — four are part of the senatorial slate of the said tandem.

Meanwhile Legarda and Zubiri are guest candidates, while Ejercito, Villanueva and Escudero were endorsed only by vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.

Only Cayetano and Tulfo, both of whom are running independent, and Hontiveros who is the only opposition candidate running under the senate slate of Vice President Leni Robredo and Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan are not directly affiliated with the UniTeam.
