MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Leni Robredo on Tuesday disclosed they would be talking to experts about alleged election irregularities spreading on social media and promised to share their findings with supporters.
Robredo again thanked her supporters for joining her campaign for good governance in another post-election statement issued via Twitter,
She said she was aware of questions about the recently conducted polls as the scion of an ousted dictator, Ferdinand Marcos Jr., was leading the partial and unofficial count of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
Robredo also communicated about attending a Mass in Naga City on Tuesday evening to thank her fellow Naga residents for their support, and a gathering on Friday, May 13, in Manila to thank her campaign volunteers.
This message from the Vice President comes hours after she addressed her supporters and volunteers, thanking everyone who participated in their grassroots campaign — including the house-to-house tour which saw supporters go from one community to another.
Initially, there was confusion as to whether Robredo was conceding, as she said that the voice of the people was becoming clearer regarding the elections.
She also mentioned that while she loves the country, this love cannot be the origin of divisiveness among Filipinos.
But the Vice President has so far not made any concession speech, stressing that there were still voters who have not cast their votes.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the partial and unofficial count from the Commission on Election’s transparency server showed that Marcos garnered 30.95 million votes while Robredo has 14.75 million votes.
Their running mates share the same stories: Senator Francis Pangilinan, Robredo’s vice presidential bet, also trails Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, 9.187 million to 31.39 million.
