MANILA, Philippines — Incumbent Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto has been reelected as chief executive of the city, overwhelmingly winning over his rival, Vice Mayor Iyo Bernardo.
Sotto was proclaimed winner on Tuesday morning after he garnered 335,851 votes over Bernardo, who secured just 45,604, based on the Commission on Elections transparency server with all election returns from the city transmitted.
This will be Sotto’s second term as Pasig mayor.
He first won the post in 2019, breaking the grip of the Eusebio clan in Pasig since 1992.
Meanwhile, Sotto’s running mate Dodot Jaworski won the vice mayoralty race with 205,250 votes in his favor.
