CEBU CITY, Philippines—Lapu-Lapu City Rep. Paz Radaza is offering P300,000 on information that can lead to the identity and arrest of the gunman and mastermind in the killing of a village councilor on the eve of the May 9 elections.
Radaza, who is running for mayor of Lapu-Lapu City, announced the reward on her Facebook page early Monday (May 9) morning.
Jose “Sadam” Quiros was shot dead past 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 8. Quiros was a village councilor of Barangay Tungasan, Olango Island, which is under the jurisdiction of Lapu-Lapu.
Police could not provide details on the shooting except that Police Station 1 in Olango received a report of gunfire at 8:52 p.m.
Police Senior Master Sergeant Madelon Mangarin of Station 1 in Olango Island said that policemen found Quiros’ body when they went to the area.
He could not provide details since the investigators were still in the area.
A few hours after the shooting, Radaza went on her social media account to announce a reward for the swift resolution on Quiros’ killing.
