CONCEPCION, Tarlac—Wearing a pink shirt, former Sen. Bam Aquino cast his vote at South Central elementary school in this town after two hours of waiting in line.
He was given a ballot at 9:41 a.m. and submitted it at 9:51 a.m., together with his wife, Mary Fatima.
Kristal Clare Sumang, a support staff member of clustered precinct 100, Aquino, and other voters, had to queue for two hours because at least 50 senior citizens, pregnant women, and persons with disability (PWDs) were given priority.
“Mas mahaba ang pila kumpara sa last election pero wala namang umaalis. Lahat ay handang bumoto. Mainit pero okay lang dahil handa tayong gawin ang ating civic duty. Konting sakripisyo lang naman ito. Mahalaga namang paunahin yung mga senior citizen, PWDs, at buntis,” Aquino said.
