Carbon police gets new chief
Starting tomorrow, the Carbon police station will have a new chief.
Senior Supt. Eunil Avergonzado will replace Chief Insp. Pablo Cabildo, who will relinquish his post less than a month after he assumed post as Carbon police chief.
Cabildo earlier replaced Chief Insp. Renero Agustin, who was ordered sacked by Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama after a civilian police volunteer was shot dead in the Carbon market area last month.
The recent change of leadership came after Rama ordered to have all policemen at the Carbon police sacked following a shooting incident last Friday dawn where a man was shot dead in front of the police station in barangay Ermita.
Rama had said Cabildo will be spared from the major face-lift. But Avergonzado told Cebu Daily News that he received an order from the administrative office of Cebu City Police Office instructing him to assume post as officer-in-charge of the Carbon police.
Avergonzado said he will focus on curbing the killings in the barangay.
