MAN FOUND HANGING DEAD

A MAN who tried to kill himself several times in the past was found hanging dead in his rented house in barangay Canjulao, Lapu-Lapu City.

Rolito Degamo was found by his live-in partner, Maricel Malinao, suspended from a beam in the kitchen of their house at 8:30 p.m. last Friday.

Police said the man used a nylon rope in hanging himself.

Jealousy may have driven the man to commit suicide, said police.

Police said Degamo got upset when he learned that Malinao had a fight with her former live-in partner with whom she had seven children.

The woman told police that Degamo tried to commit suicide before by jumping to a well, slashing his wrist and hanging himself.

Police said there were no signs of foul play in the man’s death./CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA

Three boxes of fish locally known as tuloy or tamban were confirmed to have been caught through dynamite fishing.

The boxes of fish were owned by vendor Susan Ando of Cordova town.

Ando pleaded to the inspecting team led by SPO1 Jomar Ybanez not to confiscate since she didn’t know that what she sold were blasted fish.

Ando said she bought the fish from Pasil market. Each box of fishes was worth P1,900.  The inspecting team heeded Ando’s plea not to confiscate her merchandise but warned her not to sell blasted fish again./CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
