Volunteer poll watchers for Leni-Kiko keep watch over Masbate’s polls

500 cops deployed in Masbate for May polls NPA masbate clash

DIMASALANG, MASBATE—Poll watchers volunteered on Monday, May 9, to monitor the polling places in Masbate for the Leni Robredo-Kiko Pangilinan tandem, to protect the ballots cast for Robredo and her ticket.

The Solid Leni Bicol-Masbate Kaakibat ni Leni Robredo (MKLR) organized a network of volunteers that were deployed in each polling precinct in Masbate. The province has at least 823 clustered precincts from three districts as per May 2019 data from the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Vic Dalanon, coordinator of MKLR said they made sure that every designated voting center in Masbate has at least one poll patrol to guard ballots cast and report any election offense.

“Whatever information that the poll patrols can gather, they will report it to the Lawyers for Leni for further legal actions,” Dalanon said in a phone interview Monday morning.

Dalanon added that the poll watchers would also deliver news to the team if the Election Board Officers would not take action on any suspicious activity in the polling precincts despite complaints from poll watchers.
