Staffer of Leyte town mayor shot dead

ORMOC CITY – A staff member of incumbent Mayor Jonathan Remandaban of Tabango town in Leyte was shot dead while resting inside a car in Barangay Campokpok on Saturday evening, May 7.
Major Ronald Espina of the Tabango Police Station identified the victim as Dave Damayo, 40.

Initial investigation conducted by responding police officers revealed that while the victim was resting inside a Nissan Navara parked along the roadside, a group of armed men on board different cars opened fire at Damayo.

The perpetrators escaped towards the direction of Barangay Inangatan, Tabango town.
Police are conducting a hot pursuit operation to arrest the assailants.
