GMA News brings biggest Eleksyon 2022 coverage online

The online portal of GMA News is bringing its biggest Eleksyon 2022 coverage.

Lead by the award-winning team of GMA News and Public Affairs Digital Media, GMA News Online will deliver the fastest, most relevant and accurate election news and content to online users everywhere.

The GMA News website provides information and intuitive tools to guide voters before, during and after the elections. It contains in-depth information about candidates for president, vice president and senators compiled by GMA researchers.

A Debates Page features reports from debates and interviews with presidential candidates by Jessica Soho.

A demographic and geographical profile of registered voters is also accessible through the website with data from the Commission on Elections. It allows users to choose a location and a dashboard will display data.

A Guides page houses content on guides and tools to help voters choose the right candidates. These include voter education materials, candidates’ stand on issues and similar information useful in deciding who to vote for.

A feature, called My Kodigo, allows voters to pick candidates and generate a printable list that can serve as guide inside polling precincts.

GMA News’ election microsite is easily accessible to TV viewers through the Eleksyon QR Code that shows up during newscasts and links to the Eleksyon 2022 website.

In weeks leading up to the elections, a digital explanatory report, Need to Know, created three special series for voters’ education—candidates’ stand on issues, disinformation and election basics.

A digital newscast, Stand for Truth produced In Review, is a seven-part series highlighting the status of Philippine sectors and how the government is addressing their struggles.

Last April, GMA started Dapat Totoo, a series of online lectures for student election coverage volunteers. It tackles the role of journalism and social media in news coverage and fighting misinformation. Panelists in the lecture series included award-winning journalists Howie Severino, Raffy Tima and Emil Sumangil plus Kapuso celebrities Bianca Umali, Rain Matienzo and officials of social media platforms TikTok, Twitter and YouTube.

To bring voter education to Gen Z audiences, an Eleksyon 2022 quiz filter was created, the first augmented reality quiz filter which has reached over 69,500 organic Facebook and Instagram users since its launch last March.

Last April, GMA launched the #DapatTotooDanceChallenge on TikTok where influencers and dancers published their dance challenge entries. It has already gained more than 1.9 million views.

On May 9, as the country elects its new set of leaders, GMA is one with every Filipino in safeguarding their votes as it brings real-time and up-to-the minute election results.

Netizens can catch the live stream of GMA’s Eleksyon 2022 coverage on GMA News Online.
