Easterlies to bring rain, cloudy skies in Luzon – Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Despite the forecast for hot and humid weather, rain and partly cloudy to overcast skies are probable in Luzon on Sunday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

“Sa Luzon ay bahagyang maulap hanggang sa maulap na kalangitan pa rin ang mararanasan at mainit at maalinsangang panahon dahil yan sa patuloy na pagiral ng easterlies,” said Pagasa weather specialist Patrick del Mundo.

(Luzon will have partly cloudy to overcast skies and hot and humid weather due to the easterlies.)

“At dahil nga dito asahan din ang mga pagulan sa hapon o sa gabi na maaari lamang magtagal ng 30 mins up to 2 hours maximum,” he added.

(And because of this also expect rains in the afternoon or evening that can only last 30 mins up to 2 hours maximum.)

The entire Visayas and Mindanao, on the other hand, will experience generally fair weather with chances of rain in the afternoon and evening.

Del Mundo then assured that no storms or low pressure areas are expected to enter or form within the Philippine area of responsibility over the weekend or throughout the next three to five days.
