TUGUEGARAO CITY – A total of 41 dengue – stricken patients have been admitted at the Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC) in Cagayan from April 1 to 30, the hospital chief said on Saturday.
Dr. Glenn Mathew Baggao, CVMC hospital chief said the increase in cases may be traced to the prevailing weather which is favorable to the growth of the Aedes aegypti mosquito which spreads the viral illness.
Clean the surroundings and the elimination of objects that could hold stagnant water at home are some of the ways to prevent dengue fever.
The hospital has established a dengue-fast lane with standby health workers who can immediately assist patients exhibiting symptoms of dengue virus.
“The best thing to be done is to consult doctors at hospitals and clinics to ensure that patients either afflicted or with symptoms of dengue virus will be assisted,” Baggao said.
