LEGAZPI CITY––Close to 30 vehicles on Thursday, May 5, joined a caravan supporting the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo and her running mate, Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, that went around the towns and cities to encourage people to go out and vote on May 9.

Jose “Pepe’ Estevez, Albay Rotary Club president, said the caravan aimed to invite people to vote and select their national leaders who possess the traits of “honesty, leadership, love for God, country, and environment.”

In an interview, Estevez said: “The caravan does not only aim to convince the people to support the Leni-Kiko presidential bid but also encourages them to vote wisely for the future of the country and the generations to come.”

The caravan started at the Saint Gregory Cathedral in Albay District and had a 360-degree route around Mayon Volcano covering Sto Domingo, Bacacay, Malilipot, Tabaco City, all in the 1st district; Polangui, Libon, Oas, Ligao City, Guinobatan, in the 3rd district; Camalig, Daraga; and the Legazpi’s business center, and ended at the Sawangan Park in the Legazpi City Boulevard.

As the caravan went around, it garnered positive responses from the public, especially from the “men in the streets,” Estevez said.

The caravan was a preparatory activity for Friday’s major Leni-Kiko rally, where Robredo and Pangilinan would address thousands of supporters in Albay at Sawangan Park this afternoon.

Robredo was expected to visit Sorsogon before holding a grand rally in Naga City on Friday afternoon and meeting de avance in Makati City in the evening.
