ILOILO CITY—Ilonggo youth volunteers supporting the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo and the vice presidential run of her running mate, Sen. Francis Pangilinan, gathered in Guimbal town, Iloilo for a protest rally on Tuesday (May 3).
The rally was held on the same day of the Visayas leg of the miting de avance of presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his running mate Sara Duterte in the same town at the Guimbal football field.
The youth volunteers, coming from different towns in Iloilo province, held out placards with messages like “Never again”, “Never forget” and “Diktador, hindi bayani (Dictator, not hero)” to protest the possible return of another Marcos in Malacañang.
The young protesters also lit candles as a way of reminding people of injustices and human rights violations committed during the dictatorship of the late Ferdinand Marcos.
A noise barrage, featuring ‘Busina for Leni-Kiko’, was also held in support of the Robredo-Pangilinan campaign.
