SAN ANTONIO, Zambales––Apart from the malfunctioning of a vote-counting machine (VCM), the final testing and sealing of VCMs in San Marcelino town in this province went well, officials said on Tuesday, May 3.
Thirteen polling centers in various public schools and 39 VCMs were part of the dry run in the town, according to Municipal Election Officer Vanessa Andulan.
She said one of the VCMs at the clustered precinct in Barangay Consuelo Norte encountered a glitch, but this would be replaced immediately.
The final testing would ensure that the VCMs are functioning properly, ahead of the May 9 elections.
Since Monday, the Commission on Elections has been conducting the final testing and sealing of VCMs in various parts of the country. The inspection ends on Saturday, May 7.
